Fortune Cookies tonight-Brianna brought home an out of print old cookbook for me called, "Cooking the Chinese Way." She knows how much I love OLD cookbooks. So, we went through the book together and decided to make some Fortune Cookies.
First I had the kids write out on paper what they wanted to put in their cookies (oh, boy some of them were a little off the wall. One of the cookies I got later on said, "You need to go Pee!" )

1 egg
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla (we mixed the first 4 things first and then add the rest below.)
3 1/4 cups of flour
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder.
We floured up the cutting board. Then took out the dough we just mixed up, rolled it out pretty thin, and used a cookie cutter to cut out our cookies.
We then took our strips of paper that we wrote on and folded them in half placing it toward the top of the cookie.
Next we folded the cookie in half.
Then we folded it up half going the other way.
We cooked them in the oven at 425 for 10 min.

***Oh, a tip that I have been given from some people- add lemon/lime to it and a little less baking soda to make them taste more like what you get at a restaurant (I'll give it a try because I like them too. The kids like the cookie taste to them so maybe I'll make them both ways next time!)
