A good smelling project-

I really love the smell of honeysuckle!
I started talking with my daughter about a project she did last year in Brownies (they took rose petals and put it in water and alcohol for a week, shaking it every day. Then draining out the petals.)
I asked her if she wanted to help me do the same with some honeysuckle. She said yes. So, here are some pictures of us playing around with some honeysuckle.

I also wanted to try it another method that I have done before (putting them into water, boiling them. Drain it with cheese cloth and then bottle up the water.) Smells so very good!

I decided not to throw out the flower heads. Instead I tied the cheese cloth and used it in my tub and as a final rinse for my hair (My hair still smells good because of it. Don't worry I'll stay away from the bees! lol...)

I also made a jar of the Honeysuckle and Olive Oil (in a week I'll get the petals out and save the oil.) I am going to add this to some of my soap later on.
Yes, I did try some of the nectar myself by pulling the flower apart and licking the small amount of nectar inside (I also let Brianna try some.) I have to say it wasn't too bad! I see why my goats like it so much.
