Bugs already!I am no master gardener but I don't like to see bugs enjoying my plants. If, I can kill a garden pest naturally I will.
Bug spray-
I am working on a new bug spray for my plants here in Alabama (I hope to scare off some red ants too if I am lucky. By the way, I have found pouring boiling water on them works pretty good. You just gotta keep up at it and make sure you don't get burned doing it yourself.)
I was so very happy with the spray that I used last year for my basil that I am going to try it again this year but with more of a twist. Of, course this year I am also armed with my NEEM tree, so watch out bugs here I come!
Here is my bug spray this year. If, I add anything to it it'll be some wormwood but for now I am going to leave that out (that I have other plans for.)

One clove of garlic.

Just two leaves from my Neem tree (if you read this you'll see that they also talk about the fire ants and Neem.)

A dash of Red Pepper.

6 leaves from my peppermint (and 4 small leaves from my Sage plant. Sorry, forgot to get a picture of those.)
I put them all in a tea pot (along with enough water to fill my tea pot) and let them boil a good 15 min.
After it was done boiling and cooling off I added my some cheap liquid LEMON detergent (which I found to work for me last year.) This is where I am not so green I guess but I feel it's not as bad as some of the bug sprays I would be buying at the store.

I'll let you know the results as this year goes one. I have a strong feeling this will be some good spray (it shouldn't burn my plants either but I will be careful and watch to see what happens.) Like I was saying I don't believe it should need any tweaking but if it does I'll be sure to add my wormwood to this mixture and then let you know how it's doing.
