I had some really cool surprises. A long time friend of mine Melinda came over from Mississippi on Saturday and spent the weekend with me. I had NO CLUE that she was coming over but her and MY husband had planned it out for me (I am such a lucky girl.)
Melinda came with gifts too! Gotta love company that brings things for you. Check out this plants that she grew in her own garden at home that now live here in Alabama with me.

Not only that but she came to teach me how to knit with NEEDLES and to crochet right (I have always held my working yarn wrong and it always really hurt my hands to crochet. Thank-you Melinda!)
Melinda might kill me for this but I am going to attach a short clip of her teaching me how to cast on. I have always had a good time learning from her (she is full of energy and lots of fun.)

Here is another wonderful video of my dear friend Melinda showing me how to knit and purl. This is a longer video but I am just so glad she let me tape it because I am sure to watch it over and over again.
I took her hiking around our place and taught her how to felt soap (sorry no pictures of me felting soap. You can do a search on this blog to see just how I felt my soap.)

Then we all had another surprise, my big white goat (Veronica) decided to have her baby while Melinda and her son where with us. So, below is a picture of our new buck. His name is Dr. Pepper (yes, I don't like the names my children picked this year but I thought I'd let them name all the goats the first year. Here are the names they went with Dew, Root Beer, Sprite, Coke, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper.)

Here are a few pictures of the kids just hanging out. They really got along great.

Jon also took some time this weekend to start some of my goat and bunny shelters for me. This isn't a finished picture of course but once they are done I'll be sure to post pictures of them as well.
