Ready for another Free pattern?

Yes, knit off two over 1 this time (but after you get done with this you will go right back to 2/2 again like in the beginning.)

You may be looking at the picture below (or above) and wondering what the heck it is. Well It's the top of a mason jar.

I am not sure how many of you grow your own kefir but I do. I love it too (makes the best smoothies and sour dough bread. I can't drink it straight tho..) Anyway, on one of the sites that I visit I seen that some people put doilies on the top of the jars and put a rubber band around that to keep them on...
Well you know me, I figure why do that. I'll just loom knit one with a rubber band inside of it.
If, you look at it close you can see there is small holes in it of course. Small enough for air but not big enough for big old nasty flies. *You MAY be able to use this to drain your kefir, I am not sure because I have not done it yet (just remember to clean your loom knitted lid if you do use it to drain because you don't want germs growing!)
Loom-Blue KK small loom.
Casted on ALL the pegs (I believe that's 24 but I have to double check.)
Stitched used- e-wrap 2/2 (you could use the flat stitch for smaller holes but I wanted to try to drain my kefir and I thought the e-wrap would work better for that.)

**I believe that "Peachs and Cream" (which is what I use for my dish cloths I make) would be a great yarn to use for this project because it is cotton. I did not use it this time because some of my yarn is packed up.
Here we go.
I casted on using the e-wrap.
Knitted 2/2 for 3 rows.
Then I added my rubber band. ***This is the same way I add a rubber band when I am making a ponytail holder too.

Now what I did was take the bottom of my work (from the INSIDE of the loom) and bring one stitch up at a time onto each peg (check out the pictures below.)

This is what it'll look like once you have all the pegs done like I said to to above.

Take off by using the gathering method.
Below are some up close pictures of it.
**If, you are still worried about little bugs getting in you COULD sew in a small coffee filter or a milk filter on the top of this too (I am sure it'll take a longer time to drain your kefir out if you try to do it out of this lid. I myself will try to drain it one time with the lid on but I think I'll keep draining my kefir like I normally do because I have a feeling I may make a big mess doing it this way. We will see....lol)
If, you do keep kefir I am sure you have already seen Dom's site. If, you don't and want to learn more about kefir his site is a WONDERFUL site packed full with information.**Don't forget that his site is free but you can see all the time he put in it and he does have a place where you can send him a donation.
