Beak-Crochet beak (I did 10 chains to start. Then worked back and forth doing one less on the ends each time.) Do this until it looks like a beak (which will be when you are down to the last chain.)

Body-Cast on (method of your preference) stitches and K 25 rows.Take off loom using gathering method.

Assembly: Aka:Stuffing your bird..hee..hee
Body-Turn body section inside out so you have the fluffiest part on the outside.Stuff with plastic garbage bags or other stuffing of your choice.Using a running stitch, work around the open end and gather to close secure with a few stitches.

Head-With the wrong side down, lay piece flat then fold over. Seam the top edge.Seam the open side leaving the end open so you can stuff the chick.Stuff the head.Seam up the open edge of the head.

Attach head by sewing it to the body
Glue eyes on or use animal eyes that clip on together (the knits will move enough to work those on. The fun fur will cover it up also.)Attach beak to bird.

**You could add feet to this little guy too if you wanted. It would be easy enough to do!
Up coming things-
I have a few patterns I want to share with my readers. Some are loom knitting and some are with braiding! I have been so busy working with magazines and my book that I haven't been sharing any free patterns on here. So, it's time for me to start.
My first free project is going to be a loom knitted lid for my kefir jars..lol!

Performances- Brianna has 3 more singing dates and then we are done for the year!

The Oldtimers Fest-
There was so many things to see and do. I took just a few pictures to share with you. These first pictures are of what some of the Amish in Ohio use to "harvest" ice for the summer.

I found this NEAT thing that cuts your jean materials for you! I love this because I can't cut straight to save my life. I could use one of these for sure. They run around $150 tho!
This next picture is of some of the fiber critters that was that the fest. Yes, that's Bri and Corey
behind them (I think they wanted to take one home but I had to say NO even tho they are cute.)
Click here for a very short clip of some of some of the music that people were playing.

What's New-
Well it's time for my black walnuts to start falling off my trees. I seen an ad where a lady was selling them to dye wool. So, I figure I'll give it a try too, well not selling them but using it on some of my angora (we sure do have enough of them.) So, I am off to pick up the black walnuts around the back yard.

Here are a few sites I seen about it.
Old Caveman Chemistry -which also has a think of who to dye with Pokeberry (which we also have.)
and here is one more for you. Click here.
Kefir update-
I made some pancakes this morning with it (thanks to the lady I bought them telling me how good they were.) My children just LOVED it!
So, far my Kefir seems to be growing well. I did notice that I have a lot of babies growing and they are not seeming to want to connect just yet. I do have a bigger grain (I am happy with what I call my big Momma. Right now she is making me a quart a day) but a LOT more of these little guys growing like crazy.

I took some of the little guys and put them in their own milk. Maybe they will feel more like connecting then..lol.. We will just have to wait and see.

If, there are any Kefir experts out here I'd love to hear what you have to say about me only growing little ones because I want to make sure I am not killing these guys off (I don't think I am because I keep getting more and more of the little ones but my big momma never seems to change all that much. Any thoughts?)
Below is a picture of my babies that I am talking about.I have tons of these (this is what is left AFTER I strain my whey. Is it maybe just the curds and I am thinking they are grains?)
