One of my very favorite blogs has a REALLY good post today (she always has good ones but this one I just had to post about here too.) It's of how to clean fish. Now, I am sure your not one of those people that think there isn't going to be some blood when cleaning a fish. We all know that cleaning fish isn't going to be a pretty job but it needs to be done to eat fish.
I believe Kansas did a wonderful job of taking pictures and showing just how to clean a fish. I love her site... Go visit her and check out what else this amazing lady does (I keep joking with her about me moving up there to live with her...The land up there is just beautiful and Kansas has a wealth of knowledge that she shares with you on her site.)
Baby rabbits are growing-
These pictures were taking last night. The one set is 6 days old in this picture and the other are 5.
Kefir-
Well this morning I put kefir milk into my kids breakfast without telling them. I waited and asked them if it was good and they said yes. After they finished their breakfast I told them it was kefir. I believe we are starting to like this a little.
**Click here to get intouch with someone to buy Kefir. This is where I bought it. REALLY good price and I am happy with my service and the Kefir.
Dehydrating kefir into fruit roll ups/ fruit leathers-
*** Warning my machine's booklet says NOT to dehydrate things prepared in or marinated in alcohol. I am not sure if kefir would fall into this category.. So, this falls under one of those things don't do as I do type of deals..*******
I bought a dehydrator not long ago and wanted to make some fruit roll ups for my children. Well since the other night I made a kefir drink with bananas and strawberries I thought, why not try to make it into a fruit roll up. People do it with yogurt so I am guessing it would work with kefir as well.
First I took some wax paper (because I don't have any fruit roll up sheets.) I cut a whole in the middle of it so it wouldn't touch the machine. I sprayed a little oil on the sheets and then
I poured my mix (which was just 1 quart of kefir milk with my strawberries and bananas mixed and blended in. Now I did not use the WHOLE quart just enough where it was about 1/4 inch around the round tray. I have lots left over but I didn't want to waist any if this didn't turn out.) Then I turned on the machine. It's not done yet and I have no clue if this will taste good or not.
It's done and below are some pictures of it. It taste good!

***I want to thank my dear friend Milli for getting me into dehydrating. This is my first project with it but you can bet I'll be doing more if I don't burn my house down first.. Thanks Milli!
Make it from scratch-
A new issue of MIFS is out. Click here to check it out. Lots of goodies on here.
A cool magazine-
On my trip to Tennessee I got some magazine to read. One of those was a magazine called, "Farm Show." This is a WONDERFUL magazine. Put it this way as soon as I got home one of the first things I did was call to start getting them sent to me.
If, you have a TSC around you next time look for this magazine. You'll see just what I mean. In it there are tons of things that farmers and other people have come up with. I am so impressed with people that think outside of the box like these people do. This is one of those magazines that is well worth the price!
BUT if you don't believe me or don't have a TSC please click here to get ONE free issue and you'll see what I am talking about.
