Update: Easy bake oven has been recalled again! Click here to read more.

Showing off my Cooking skills with my wonderful daughter's help-
Testing out the Easy Bake Oven!
Ok, TWO years ago I bought my daughter one of those new Easy Bake Ovens (that you can make Mac and cheese in..) Ok, Easy Bake has been around even when I was a kid but back then I think it was pink and I am not sure it had more then one button (on/off..Maybe I am wrong because it's been so long ago but you get my point.) I don't recall being able to make Mac and Cheese tho..

Anyway, it's been sitting here for two years and my daughter asked me the other day when she could use it. So, I said TODAY.

So, we made some cookies.

Over-all thoughts on this-
Well it's an Easy Bake Oven. The color may have changed and they may now have two buttons but the cookies still cook uneven and kid's still LOVE it!

So, I guess I'd say the Easy Bake was an alright gift for my daughter but really I don't see us using it that much in the future.

**Cool Web sites I have seen-
It has everything from recycling, sewing, kid stuff, cooking, formulas and remedies! Click here .
**Free project for you all that I did today!
How I did it is at the bottom of today's post (no, it's not perfect but the next one I'll do better! I do learn from my mistakes. hee..hee)

Things that I am testing!

Test one-
Magnesium for PMS migraines. I get a migraines for two days before my monthly.I talked with my regular doctor he told me that I should take IB Profine for a week before my period started and it would help (not when I got the headache but before!) This really isn't a bad option and I will do this if the magnesium doesn't work for me.

My OB told tried to give me a prescription to a medicine that he said would help but I would have to take that every day. I told him Thank-you but I really didn't want to take something daily when I only get the headaches twice a month. I get scared of side effects for something like that. I told him about what my regular doctor said about the IB profine and he also said that would work.

I was talking with a dear friend of mine (Yes, you Milli!) She has the same problem as I do. She told me about taking Magnesium. I do not have to take it every day either. So, I am giving it a try and taking two 250 mg. of Magnesium once a day the week before I start.I will update you if I get my headaches this time.

Test two-
Ok, now I have been reading all over the Internet about how you rid your barn of flies by putting water in a zip lock bag and SHUTTING it tight, hang it up, and the flies will leave.
Now, I honestly can't see why this would work. Some say it's because of the light that comes off the bags but if that was true then I don't understand why when I put bags up that have water and a liquid in them that they fly INTO it... BUT I am willing to try it. What do I have to lose (Flies of course!) So, I have put a bunch of bags all around in my barn and outside (I am sure the people who drive by my place already think I am crazy but if this works- so what.. I'll be crazy about without flies!) I'll let you know if I think this really does work out not.
***Newest Project***
Here is a fast, fun, recycling, and cheap project to do. My daughter has long hair and has to wear it up when we ride or do things around here. So, I wanted to dress some of her ponytail holders up (I love my loom knitted ones but this came to mind and I gave it a try)

I took an old shirt that my daughter used to like that doesn't fit her any longer.

I cut it along the bottom.
I then cut the sides of the piece that I cut off (to make it go into a little point after I sewed it up.)

After that I turned it inside out and sewed it up (I did have to trim it up a little because I did it a little sloppy, ok a lot! Think of it this way, if I did it so sloppy and it still turned out cute.. think of how cute it will look when you do it! I did have to fix it up some but I think it still turned out ok.)

Next I turn it the other way and sewed it up.

Then I got my rubber band and put the material in it. Then I tied it around into a knot.

This is what it looks like done and in Bri's hair! Not bad for a girl who can't sew and an old shirt. Oh, by the way you can get these cheap rubber bands at like the dollar store in groups of like 50-75 for $1.00!! I may do a short video on just how easy this is to do but for now I have to get to some other projects that I am behind on.
