Soap with a picture inside of it!

I don't think I will be able to make it up for Mother's day to see my mom so I am working hard right now to make her some nice things to let her know just how much she means to me (don't worry I called her and told her NOT to get on my blog until after Mothers day. I am sure she wont listen to me because she never does..lol.. I love you mom!)
If, you already know my mom you know she is a wonderful spit fire of a woman. There isn't anything that woman wouldn't do for anyone in this world. She has the BIGGEST heart in any one person I have ever come across. At the same time she isn't some house mouse either. If, you make her mad...Oh, boy you'll know. You might even get a soda in your face! lol...
All I can say is that once you know my mother you'd be sure to never come across another like her again (I couldn't tell you how many people she has helped in her life. She is an amazing woman and a good friend to many.) I am very lucky to have her and I love her with all my heart.
With that said today's project was intended for her.
Once I got started on it I started thinking I better make one for Jon's mom too. Then I started thinking about Christmas again so I made some more for more of my family. By the end of the day I am all soaped out! lol..

Here is what I did. I bought a BIG block of Melt and Pour clear soap (5 lbs. Which isn't cheap at Joann's. It's like $21.00 so next time I'll price shop that better.) I also bought some Glossy Laminate Sheets which cost $5.99 for a pack of them.
Then I printed some small pictures out on my computer. I glued two of them back to back. Then I laminated them. I'd pour 1/2 of the melt and pour and then put my picture inside of it. I let it sit for a short time and then I poured more melt and pour on top of it (don't let it sit long before you pour the second time. I did it less then a minute.) Oh, I forgot to say I added some oil to it also (for smell.)

Here are some pictures of how it turned out. I did a lot more but I of course am running out of time today.

This last picture is just me playing around with a cookie cutter that Amy over at spunkybluecatdesign.com sent me for my b-day back in feb. Thank-you Amy!
